Andree Marie Jantsch died peacefully at the milestone age of 100, at Providence St. Joseph
Medical Center in Burbank, CA. Andree is survived by her daughter, Claudia Thomas,
grandchildren, Angelique and Nirobi Thomas, and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by
her friend and companion, Janelle Williams and many loving close friends who made up her
extended family. Susie and Tuxedo were her devoted four-footed companions, always at her side.
Andree was born January 7, 1920, in Brussels, Belgium, emigrating to America with her parents
when she was just a toddler. She lived in Los Angeles County all her life, residing for the past 56
years in Glendale, California.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norbert Jantsch and her parents, Josephine Boschman
Fefebvre and Eugene Lefebvre. Andree loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to
movies, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
She was a brilliant conversationalist, with fluency in French, Spanish, English and even a little Flemish. Andree's
interests were varied and included art, fashion, music, dancing, gardening, entertaining, and of course
animal welfare. She couldn't resist any stray cat or dog in need of help, and she devoted herself to
their care her entire life.
Andree attended Clifford Street Elementary School, Wilson Junior High and John Marshall High
School. She received her degree in Geography and Teaching from UCLA, and she taught
elementary school in Montebello, followed by a 20-year career with Southern California Gas
Company.
Andree looked forward to someday being reunited with her parents and beloved husband Norbert
in Heaven. God called her Home on March 17, 2020. May God rest her beautiful soul! She will
be greatly missed and eternally loved by all. She is interred at Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City,
CA.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Pasadena Humane Society.
