We first met Jim when we moved two houses down from him 23 years ago.  Twelve years ago we brought home two kittens.  Shortly thereafter we had a earthquake and our orange cat, Woody, took comfort under your dad's house.  Whenever I couldn't find Woody, I came down and Jim and I went into the back yard and found Woody comfortably lounging underneath the house.  Years ago, Jim put a board in front of the entrance but to this day Woody still would visit Jim.  We also remember Jim mowing his grass and taking care of his garden, usually in the hottest part of the day.  He always seemed like a strong, independent man who did things when and how he wanted to.  We were glad to have known him.  Our sincerest sympathies, Sue, Marc and Steven Lamphear
