I have had the privilege of the friendship of your son Rogie.  Thank you for raising him to be the thoughtful and caring man that he is.  Rest in peace.

The eulogy I prepared is too long to include here, but let me just say that my lola is one of the few people on this planet who could make me smile every time I saw her smile, without fail, as though the muscles of my face were somehow linked to hers. 

It is, I believe, a response borne of memory, the residue of my earliest experiences with her, as a young child, cradled in her arms, completely at ease, knowing that there was no place safer. We see this game between parents/ grandparents and their infants, when they look them in the face and smile and coo, as if to say "It's alright. It's alright to come into this world. Because I'm here. I will love you." And she did love me, showed me how it's done, and for that, I'll always be grateful.

I miss you so. Hugging you always felt like coming home.

Rest easy, lola. Enjoy His glorious presence. We'll be along.

Lola and I shared many wonderful experiences over the years.

To think, we actually shared a room together! Or that we traveled across four different countries in three weeks! But it was also the little things. Tending to her garden together. Having merienda at the table. Watching Wowowee or Pacquiao, or the Lakers. 

I especially love one of my last memories with her - on my wedding day. It was at the very end, and everyone was exhausted but still dancing, and here came Tita Osbeng ushering Lola onto the dance floor. And so we had our moment, just Lola and me, dancing silly like before, with everyone watching. It was perfect.

What she leaves with me now, aren't her words. 

Her legacy, to me, is her essence - her beautiful, precious core. Her insides made of gold. Her absolute, unrelenting love and kindness. Her strength, in her quietness. 
In all of those years we shared together, in all of those memories, it wasn't what she told me that stays with me now. 

What lingers is the simple purity of how she lived. My Lola was, in the truest sense, good. I know none, who exuded goodness, any more humbly, and devotedly, than she. 

I just couldn't be more grateful to have been her grandson. What a privilege it has been to know her all these years. 

Lola, I've already been missing you. I wish I had told you more often. And now, I miss you more than ever. But as you have done as well, with so many, I've loved you quietly, all this time, and I always will.

Gone from us, present with the Lord!  Hallelujah!  Our thoughts, our love, our prayers are with you our dear family.  May the Lord give you and our family peace and joy in the coming days and years to come as we all remember the wonderful memories and great legacy Mommie  Pat leaves all of us!  We love you all!
