Mary Frances Richardson

A memorial service will be held at the Valley Funeral Home in Burbank, California on Saturday, May 11th, 2013 at 1.00pm. Officiating the service will be Deacon Frank Kolbash of Saint Finbar Church.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband Michael, her three children, Chase, Chadric and Charlotte Richardson, stepson Ross Richardson, brother & sister-in-law James & Kathy Harkins and their children, sister Kathleen Harkins, mother-in-law Dorothy Richardson, sister and brother-in-law Rosemary & Fred Creason, and niece Cindy Fisher.

Mary is predeceased by parents Francis E. and Kathleen G. Harkins and brother Thomas J. Harkins.

Originally born and raised in New Jersey, Mary moved to California in 1982, following in her older brother’s footsteps in search of the bright lights of Hollywood. Eventually, Mary found another stage in the education field.

While working within the California education system as an English as a Second Language teacher, in 1991, she met this guy named Mike. Little did she know that this guy would become her soul mate considering that their first date in September of 1993 reportedly did not go well. Thankfully for us, there was a second date. Mary and Mike married on October 15th, 1995 and were blessed with three beautiful children.

Mary’s most recent job was working as an Assistant Principal in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Her hobbies included reading, literature, gardening and health and physical fitness activities. She was known for her pre-dawn walks in the Griffith Park Hills, yoga and a love of show tunes and musicals.

Mary used to zip through Hollywood on her moped in the early days. Mike swears he saw her once long before they officially met.

Mary was one of a kind and will be sorely missed by all. May her light keep shining brightly.
