

Our beloved mother and grandmother Theresa Espina Manalastas-Patterson passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at Burbank, California. Born on October 15, 1925 in Manila, Philippines, a daughter to Pedro Espina and Alberta Sugui. She was preceded in death by her husbands Ursulo Manalastas, Sr. ('61) and Samuel Patterson ('12) and her eldest son Roberto Manalastas. She is survived by her children, Amelia Manalastas Junio and JR Manalastas; her sisters, Ofelia Palma and Carmen Carasig; her grandson Ismael Manalastas Junio; and her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great grand children.
During her 90 years, she has been a faithful and devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, best known to her friends as either Terry or Resa, she endeared herself to those who knew her best for her quick-witted remarks, sense of humor, her loving and kind-hearted way of caring, her sense of fashion which is simple yet elegant, and above all else, her unshakable trust, faith and devotion to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her hobbies included collecting brain stimulating and humorous articles, poems, piano and song pieces, bargain hunting, reading her bible and the numerous books and devotionals of Ellen White.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Glendale Filipino Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 310 E. Chestnut St., Glendale, CA 91205. Her remains will be cremated during the week following the memorial service.
