Alan was born on June 28, 1959, in Hong Kong. As the youngest child in the family, he was dearly loved and cherished by his parents, brother, and two sisters. Everyone who know Alan regarded him as a kind and well behaved child.
While attending elementary school, Alan was injured in a traffic accident and spent nearly a month in the hospital. This accident helped him learn about the Lord Jesus Christ. Alan was baptized at Hepzibah Church after graduating high school. Alan worked in the banking industry until 1992 and immigrated to Canada with his family.
In 1992, Alan started a family with his wife and they were blessed with two daughters. Alan was a loving father, he always treasured all the moments he spent with his daughters. One of his favorite memories he often looked back on was the time his daughters broke the stroller on the way to school because they both wanted to sit on it. It is a story that has become an inside joke between him and his daughters.
Alan is often very good with his spending, however, collecting books is his guilty pleasure. One of his biggest joys was taking a day off work to go to the library sale to treasure hunt. He had slowly turned his home into a little library from all his finds over the years.
Alan was a devoted Christian that always put others ahead of himself. He was an amazing host to everyone who visits, and would be the first one there if any one needed help. Even during his last moments, he was prioritizing his father well being over his own. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband and father.
