I am incredibly sorry for you and your families loss. Your Father was an amazing person and his passing hits me in a way only my family does.

Your eulogy at the service was amazing and connected a few dots I never know about him. Thank you for that.

Alfonso was my neighbour next door where I used to live. I always called him zio out of respect I had for him. I loved Alfonso like he was my real zio he always looked out for me and would often checked up on me and always asked if I needed anything. When I would come over to visit him we would have the best time talking and I always loved his stories and we would laugh a lot together. I will always thank Alfonso for all the advice he would give me about life.  Alfonso had the biggest heart and always loved giving and not wanting anything in return. He was
 truly a kind hearted man. I will miss you so much zio Alfonso. Ti amo Sempre zio 

We did not know Alfonso well but we know the kind, loving, capable husband and father you are, Sammy, and that you credit your father with leading you to be the incredible man you have become. Back in the early 2000's, I used to hang out at the old Cafè Roma on Commercial Drive and I would always bump into Alfonso. Being of Sicilian stock myself, we hit it off and became buddies. He knew my father in which they were roughly close in age. I always got a kick hanging out with Alfonso and listening to his stories. My lasting memory of him is whenever we bumped into each other, he would always greet me with a loud "bedazzuuu!" Lol. Which in Sicilian dialect means "handsome" (bello in Italian). Until it became our thing and I would greet him in the same way. I have fond memories of Alfonso and so I was sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to the family.

Sorry your dad passed away. My sincere condolences to you and your family at this difficult time.

My condolences to Alfonsos family. I’ve know Alfonso for 15 years. We met walking our dogs through the neighborhood. He loved that dog so much. We would talk about gardening at every east van baseball game. My wife and I would always look forward to his great smile and sense of humour. He was a great neighbor and a true friend. I will miss you always. 

Such a great loss 
Alfonso was a vital part of East Van Baseball. He always brought an incredibly bright energy to the ball park. He got along with absolutely everyone. He was incredibly kind and hilarious. We love you Alfonso! 

I met Alphonso this past year at Sunrise Park when I started playing baseball with EVBL. We had an instant connection and would share stories of our family, culture, recipes and lots of laughs.  We became close, as he reminded me of my late grandfather and became like family to one another. He would bring me soups, stews, wine, tomatoes and oregano from his garden. Never for anyone else, just me.  I felt very honoured and  special. I saw him a few weeks ago and he pretended to run me over with his car lol, laughing and smiling. I really did love him and if I knew that was the last time I’d see him I would have given him the biggest hug. Thank you for your friendship, stories, laughs and generosity. I will never forget you. I would always ask him to bring a photo of when he was younger to the park and one day he did, so I took a photo of him with it. A photo I will always cherish and wanted to share with you.  Our EVBL games won’t be the same without Alphonso,, he meant so much to all of us and we thought of him as familia. I know I you’ll be watching over us and I’ll be sure  to share the wine you made in your honour. Rest in Peace Dear Friend. ❤️

Our baseball games will never be the same. His presence was magnetic, large, funny, charismatic and there will forever be a void without him. I send his whole family all my strength through this difficult time, please know he was dearly loved by so many 💔

Each time I saw Alfonso, I tried to learn a new sentence in Italian so that I could impress him. Rest is peace dear friend. He was so sweet to all of us, a true legend, and he will be sincerely and dearly missed. 

I just spoke with him last week. We were in touch on a regular basis and I just had lunch with him last month. He had the hottest peppers I’ve ever ate in my life and he was eating them like they were nothing. My mouth was in fire.

He knew my grandpa Leo Bosco from the good old days and he told me a bunch of stories about him that were really good to hear because I never got a chance to meet my grandpa.

He will be greatly missed by an entire community. RIP buddy 🤍
