Alfonso was born on December 8, 1937 in Villa Santa Maria, Chieti Italy. He passed away peacefully on February 10, 2017 at 79 years old at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Alfonso is survived by his loving family, his wife of 57 years Flora, sons Tony and John, daughter Mary, granddaughters Alesia, Sierra, Hannah and Sofia and grandson Marcus and many nephews and nieces in Canada and Italy.
Alfonso arrived in Canada in 1965 to reunite with his sister Elsa and her husband Nicola as well as his brother-in-law Francesco, sister-in-laws Soava and Gina. After learning his craft as a waiter in Italy he continued his career in hospitality by working at the Hotel Vancouver for many years.
Alfonso was an avid soccer enthusiast and always happy to share a glass of wine and good food with his family watching his favorite team play.
Mass will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 10 am in the Chapel at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC followed by the entombment and reception.
