Anita Taylor (nee: Pulham) passed away peacefully in Burnaby General Palliative Care on September 12, 2024, at the end of a 9-year fight with a recurring cancer. Anita was very proud and appreciative of her daughter Heather’s brave and tireless support as caregiver, especially in these recent 6 months. Anita has been emotionally supported by her son Andrew, who has been living in the UK since 2006.
Anita was born December 15, 1952 in Leek, Staffordshire, to parents Edward and Norma Pulham. Anita is also survived by her sister Valerie Carr and brother David Pulham, both still residing in England. Anita had a deep fondness and pride for her home town. She retained strong connections throughout her life, punctuated by many visits with her loving parents and friends. Anita moved to Vancouver in 1976 and had been living in North Vancouver with her children for many years, before moving to Coquitlam more recently.
Anita was a fun-loving, socially outgoing, and skilled woman who was very self-reliant, thoughtful, and loving with her family, friends, and relatives. Anita loved to cook for family and friends, and she loved to fuss over special events like birthdays, holidays, and seasonal fun. She made every Christmas a very special time for everyone she knew. Forested walks with Heather and her dog Wilbur were also among Anita’s favourite past-times. Anita also loved her many years of professional work as an effective legal secretary and administrative assistant.
Anita was loved by many people, and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at Oceanview Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Sunday, September 22.
