To Lolo Tony — I’ve had the greatest pleasure in taking care of you and supplying your creams. Your continued faith and trust in the Lord in your old age, and especially during sickness was such an inspiration to have witness. I am so blessed to have known you. 


The greatest man I ever met. 
In sports, the term GOAT( Greatest of all time) comes into mind. Lolo, for me, was the GOAT among grandfathers. From the way he speaks, carries himself and his faith in God, Lolo Tony was the man among boys. 
I've heard many stories of his greatness. So many that it can be published on a book to hear the things lolo did. God used him as a channel for the whole Cayanan Family to know who Jesus is in our lives. 
As first grandson, I experienced his kindness and goodness first hand.  He's the one who taught me how to read and write, Math, Home Economics and Improvement, and most of all, Jesus Christ. He taught me to love God more and be a reflection of His glory to many. He also taught me to become to example to my siblings.  
I can remember like it was just yesterday on how he taught me how to cook, paint walls, fix pipes, fixtures, and electric wires around the house. He's the one who built my beloved basketball court at home and taught the values of hardwork, perseverance and discipline. 
I will miss the days that I'm the one who shaves your facial hair while in bed and pays me 5 pesos to do it. The long hours in the kitchen while cooking your signature Red Adobo and Sinigang with gabi after church. The times we watch PBA. The many times you taught us 3 to recite Psalm 23 like it was at the back of our heads. The never ending thinking hours on what to do next at the house, on what to improve and fix. The times you drove us to school and the loud sneezes you make...ahahaha. The times you kept telling me to think of having a wife. Lastly, the never ending sermons you kept telling when I was being scolded.  
Lolo, you are now in the presence of God. Maybe when you came there, God ran and hugged you and declared you a Champion for Christ. You are good and faithful. We will live remembering your great legacy for the next generation of our family. Until we meet again in eternity, farewell. Thanks Lolo Tony for everything. 

A core memory of Lolo Tony was when he was still here in his house in the Philippines, he would make me head to their bedroom with tweezers and ask me to pluck his facial hair, while reciting Psalm 23. At first, I didn't understand why he made us do that. But now, I get it. Lolo would want us to remember that verse as kids so we could build our own values and principles around it once we grew older. I'm sad that I didn't get to spend more years with you like my brothers did, but I will always cherish the time I had with you whether you were close to me or through a screen. I love you, Lolo. I miss you so much.

You're such a good role model. A good father, a good grandfather, and of course, a faithful servant of God. No wonder why in the past year, we never really stopped mentioning it. We always say things along the lines of "Lolo has done this and that", and it will always end with us feeling really proud that a person like that is our lolo. Me and my kuyas are honored to be the grandchildren of someone with such amazing legacy: Someone who's known to be a living helping hand, no matter how risky or impossible a problem seems at first. Someone with great patience and perseverance, a literal hard worker. Someone who's always there for his family. Someone who's known to be dedicated to sharing God's word to anyone he encounter. Someone who became a reason for someone's life to change from bad to good. 

In this family, YOU ARE the good and faithful servant.
 
We're always proud to have someone like you in our lives, Lolo. We will always remember your legacy. You will never be forgotten. We love you.

The thought of flying to Canada to visit you and Lola on God's perfect time has always been a goal of ours. But since then, we have always missed you, Lolo. And it's really sad that we're now missing you because you're not physically there anymore.  We only saw you through the screen but your concern, love, and genuine support to our family never changed no matter how long the distance is. That's just you, Lolo. Very loving, caring, and helpful. You and Lola have always been there, and we love you so much for it. Thank you for your life, Lolo Tony.

Many say I look like my grandpa. He taught me a lot of things. From cooking good recipes to teaching me how to ride bikes. He urged me very often to remember Psalm 23, not just memorizing each word & verse but also taking it to heart. He's an inspiration not just to our family but also to our other relatives. He's very selfless, God-fearing, humble, & persevering, knowing how to sacrifice for the sake of others.

You're in the better place now, Lolo Tony. We'll miss you so much.

I will never forget those times that your beloved Boss, the late Mayor Pablo Cuneta of Pasay City, coming from trips abroad, will give you presents and you will come home and share everything with us. Your first pair of Florsheim leather dress shoes, which you gave to me to use for my high school graduation, came from him.

We will always remember those moments of joy and excitement during these tournaments.

Daddy Tony love the sports of Bowling. Although he played Basketball in his college years ( I learned basketball from him), his real passion was Bowling. From the time that he was part of the Santos Team at Grepalife (with his father-in-law Engracio Santos) to the Engineering Office Bowling team at Pasay City Hall, Duckpin Bowling was his passion.

There is not enough words to describe your goodness and greatness as a father. You were the ideal role model that everyone can look up to. Your love, understanding and patience will always guide me in every aspect of my life. Your love and commitment to the Lord cannot be surpassed. You have been faithful in everything. I know the Lord received you with open arms saying " enter now my good and faithful servant." We love you Daddy and we will definitely miss you. You will always be in our hearts!

Even though our memories together were short and simple, I will always cherish them in my heart! I love you and I will miss you! May you rest in peace Lolo.

Daddi and his love for Greenery ..He kept himself busy with gardening and used to tease him that he was always welcome to do our front lawn..Definitely the most colourful garden in the neighborhood..

I’ve been touched by your life and story Daddy Tony Cayanan. Your love for God was evident and time spent with you were always refreshing, encouraging and “Christ-Centered.”

Now, you are enjoying the presence of the Master. You are in a better place. 

You are always in my heart, Daddy  Tony♥️ Your smile, wisdom, prayers for us, our fellowship while having breakfast, delicious food you cooked for us and a lot more … will be treasured forever. See you in heaven!

We praise and thank God for you Tito Tony and your whole family, for you have opened your home not only to our family but to everyone who needed Jesus Christ. Your hospitality and generosity mirrors Christ's love for His people. Your gentleness and kindness will surely be missed.

We'll miss you Lolo! Thank you for always being an example of what it means to follow Christ. You were always so full of joy and always had a smile on your face. You're the father-in-law that anyone would love to have. Your loving sacrifice will be remembered, especially since the day you joined our family here in Canada, together with Mommy.  You're a huge blessing to myself, Monette, Jappy, and Alyssa.  You've made an impact on our lives, especially in how you gave your time and effort to support us in many ways. Thank you for taking care of Jappy and Alyssa (together with Mommy) while we were travelling doing ministry when they were younger.  You're one of the best cooks that I know, I enjoyed every meal you served every time we had fellowships after the worship services at your house in Manila, and every time you cook for our family here in Canada. You will be remembered and never forgotten. Your kindness and your smile made everyone comfortable and happy in your company. Many will miss you Daddy Tony. Your impact on my family is immeasurable and filled with remarkable things. Thank you for being such a blessing to us and to others throughout your lifetime.  Now heaven is yours to enjoy. I am thankful to the Lord at namuhay tayong masaya sa piling ng pamilya ni Monette sa Canada.  Kahit sa maikling panahon ay naalagaan kita at naipadama ko ang pagmamahal ko sa yo. Malungkot ako at iniwan mo akong mag-isa, subalit kapag naaalala ko na masaya ka na sa piling ni Lord, at wala ka nang pain, sakit at hirap, napapayapa ang damdamin ko.
