MORENA, Antonio February 16, 1930 – November 9, 2020 Antonio passed away peacefully at Cottage Hospice in Vancouver on November 9, 2020 with family by his side. Antonio was predeceased by his wife Angela, father Luigi, mother Michelina, brothers Vincenzo, Salvatore and Giuseppe. Antonio was born and raised in Teggiano, Italy in the Province of Salerno. In August, 1957 Dad immigrated to Vancouver with Mom to start their family together. Antonio’s love and compassion will be sadly missed and remembered by his children Frank (Cindy), Mike (Isabel), Gino; 3 grandchildren Haley, Anthony and Julianna; great-grandson Rico; sisters in law Maria and Maria Morena, nieces, nephews and many friends. We want to thank the many medical staff at Vancouver General Hospital (Leon Blackmore Pavilion – Unit LB7C), Dr. Kollmansberger and Dr. Soleimani at the BC Cancer Agency – Vancouver Cancer Centre and the care giving staff of the Cottage Hospice for all their kindness and compassion. Visitation will be held at Bell Chapel at 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby on Thursday, November 19th from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency Foundation at #150 – 686 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1G1. A private Rosary Service followed by a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on November 20that St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Vancouver, BC. The entombment will follow at The Abbey Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park. At this time, the family respectfully asks that attendance is by invitation only.
