From the lowest exit of the West End Park, and a busy intersection of Park Road, Oaklands Path, Babington Path and Bonham Road.  This was where we grew up together in Hong Kong in the late 60’s and 70’s.  Anthony and I lived practically a stone throw away from each other.  We went to the same primary and secondary schools, and we even shared the same English and Math tutor.  We parted ways shortly after the summer of 1979 when he and his family left for Vancouver.  For the next few years we grew apart.  Occasionally we kept in touch as we wrote each other but the vast Pacific Ocean and the lack of modern-day communication we slowly lose track of each other.  It wasn’t until 5 years had passed before my family decided to immigrate to Canada as well.  Although still some 4,100 KMs apart, at least we were no longer separated by an ocean and telecommunication had advanced drastically.  Finally, we were closer again.

Anthony was a quiet and gentle individual.  He was kind and was extremely filial.  During my first visit to Vancouver, he drove me all over town in his Mustang.  Having spent 4 years in Toronto I was not used to sitting in a car going up and down steep hills.  That drive down from Grouse Mountain probably was one of the scariest moments as I was wondering if he was able to stop the car with a front rotor that needed replacing.  I shouldn’t complain too much because at least he had a car.  I was till taking public transport in Toronto for at least another 5 years before I got my own ride.   Over the years I had tried but was not successful in convincing Anthony to settle in Toronto as he was petrified of our harsh winter.  

While saddened by Anthony’s sudden departure, I truly hope that he had found peace and would enjoy his reunion with his mother in heaven.  He will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him.  I believe his guardian angel will watch over us too, may his soul rest in perfect peace.

Anthony was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. Thank you for the memories we can recall to brighten our days for the rest of our lives. He will be deeply missed by his classmates, friends and family. Sincerest condolences.

A family friend lost too soon. Remembering the good times when we grew up and played together as kids back in Hong Kong. The Tse family is dear and close to ours – even when we are in different part of the country.  

This was a friend who we could pick up where we left off even without being in contact for years -- a friend with a kind heart and always willing to help others. My many visits to Vancouver over the years with the most recent one being in May 2016 will be remembered forever. 

May the peace of the Lord be with the family as you celebrate Anthony’s life.  May the Lord give you His perfect peace and comfort during this difficult time knowing that you are loved and being cared for by God and by many.

Anthony is a cheerful person. We know each other since primary school.  It was a sudden shock to us when you disappeared from our chat group and later found out that you passed away.
