ROBERTS, Beverley. October 25, 1947 – January 13, 2013. It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mom, Sister, Aunt and friend, Beverley Roberts. Perhaps best known for her passion for life, Bev will also be remembered for her smile, her wit and her keen sense of humour.
Bev was born in New Westminster, and was the eldest of three sisters. She was the daughter of Eric and Lucille Roberts. Bev worked as a flight attendant for CP Air and Air Canada for 41 years where she had countless friends before she retired in 2009. After retirement, Bev continued to seek out new experiences by working for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, the Whitecaps, BC Lions, and her favourite, the Vancouver Canucks.
Family and friends were Bev’s passion and joy. She grew up spending summers and vacations at Cultus Lake with her sisters, a tradition that was carried on throughout their children’s youth. She loved to ski and entertain, and was frequently dining with one of her many friends. Bev also loved to travel, and always had a new place in mind for a vacation with family or friends.
Bev is survived by her son, Jeff Cellier (Valerie), and his father, Yves Cellier, her two sisters, Maureen Ditchfield and Brenda Sherwood and their children, Jaime Ditchfield (and her son, Dyllan), Melissa Auline (Darren and their daughter, Charlie), Matthew Ditchfield, and Andrew Sherwood (Danielle).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 24th at 1:00pm at Oceanview Cemetery at 4000 Imperial St in Burnaby. Everyone is welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bev’s memory can be made to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice at www.canuckplace.org or by mail to 1690 Matthews Avenue Vancouver, BC Canada V6J 2T2
What would we give her hand to clasp.
Her patient face to see.
To hear her voice, to see her smile,
As in the days that used to be.
But some sweet day we’ll meet again
Beyond the toil and strife,
And clasp each other’s hand once more.
In heaven, that happy life.
