It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, 李惠萍, who peacefully passed away on August 3rd, 2026 at the age of 95.

Our family was built upon a mother of unwavering devotion to those she loved. Family was the centre of her world and the source of her greatest joy. Her kindness and strength, wisdom and generosity will create a lasting legacy of love that will continue to guide and inspire us for generations.

Born in Guangdong, China, Mom was the oldest of three siblings. She was predeceased by her younger brothers, 李欽堯 and 李根堯, and by the love of her life, our father, 鄭丁山, who passed away in 2004. Together, our parents shared 55 remarkable years of marriage; 55 years of love, dedication, perseverance, and family.

Mom leaves behind her 11 devoted children, 17 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved niece and nephew in Australia and Toronto, Canada.

Mom encountered countless challenges and showed equally remarkable resilience. She lived through two wars that changed the course of her life. During World War II, at just eight years old, she and her family fled Guangdong for Hong Kong, later to Vietnam, where she learned at an early age to adapt to an entirely different life.

While attending an English college, she met our beloved father. They married soon afterward and began building their life together. Mom devoted herself to raising their large family while also running a restaurant and managing the family's rental properties for many years.

When the Vietnam War ended in 1975, the family's properties were confiscated and the economy was in ruins. Once again, Mom was forced to rebuild her life from scratch again. However, she never lost her strength, dignity, or optimism. In 1988, Mom moved to Denmark, beginning yet another chapter of her life. She moved to Canada 2004, where she spent the remainder of her life surrounded by family.

Despite a rapidly changing life, Mom's kindness, sincerity, simplicity, and resilience never changed. She never asked for much for herself. She found happiness in her family and in life's simple moments. These qualities left a deep impression on all of us, and they are among the greatest gifts she has passed on to future generations. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

We would also like to express utmost gratitude to the medical staff and care team at Dufferin Care Centre for their kindness, compassion, and care provided to Mom during her final years.
