Mr. Bow Chan Wong was born on January 2, 1930 in Doo Tow Village, Zhongshan in the People’s Republic of China to his parents, Wong Yue Chun and Lee Kwan Sheung. Bow was the eldest son of four children born to his parents.

In 1952, Bow travelled alone to Canada to assist his father and lived in Burnaby, British Columbia. A few years later, Bow and Jane were reunited in Canada together with their first child. The family then moved to Ocean Falls, British Columbia where Bow became a mill worker at the pulp and paper owned at that time by Crown Zellerbach. During their stay in Ocean Falls, Bow and Jane had four more children and the family continued to live there until 1972.
In the summer of 1972, Bow and his family moved to Vancouver and Bow worked at a mill located in Coquitlam until his retirement. Bow and Jane were very proud of their children as each of them attended a post-secondary institution.
