Brenda Emily Madunic

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful sister Brenda Madunic at the age of 51 years.

Brenda passed away peacefully at Vancouver General Hospital with her family and friends by her side. She is survived by her two sisters, Josie and Sandy and her Goddaughter Ella. She is predeceased by her loving parents, Petar (2022) and Mila (2024) and she leaves behind numerous relatives and friends in Canada, Croatia, Germany and USA.

A natural caregiver, Brenda was a dedicated and highly respected nurse at BC Children’s Hospital for 29 years. She embodied the qualities of kindness, compassion, and empathy and an unwavering commitment to her patients. She adored the many children and families she served and always provided them with exceptional care. Beyond her professional career, Brenda’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and dear friends. She had a love for music and travel and any new adventure that would come her way. She also enjoyed baking, cooking and entertaining.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Catholic Church, 3105 E. 1st Avenue, Vancouver, BC. Entombment will follow at the Ocean View Burial Park, Grand Mausoleum.

Special thank you to Dr. Winnie Su, and the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital and the Vancouver General Hospital Intensive Care Unit. We will be forever grateful for the care that they provided to our sister.
