I only heard of Mr. Gobin's death recently and I apologize for the tardiness of my comments
 I was a math student of his at Prince of Wales school in the late 1960s
 He was an engaging, charming, and inspirational math teacher
 To this day I remember and can recite 'Neither wise men nor fools can work without tools' and 'Empty vessels make most noise': statements that he used to great effect when the occasion called for them!
 Truly a memorable person

 Mr. Gobin was truly my savior in high school and by far the best math teacher I have ever known.
 His patience and dedication to his students was like no other.

He was a great math teacher at Windermere Secondary School.
 I was fortunate to have him as a teacher and got to meet him in Grade 10 and 11. He is one of the few teachers that pupils at Windermere would not forget him. It is one of the precious memories that I have of Windermere. Mr. Gobin was a very popular teacher at Windermere and pupils talked about him a lot during 1988, 1989 and 1990. A lot of former students and teachers will miss, Mr. Gobin.
 
I will miss Mr. Gobin a lot. But memories of him will go on.

Charles was always a part of my life since I was 4 years old. He has left with me cherish moments and happy memories.
 I would always look forward to him coming home on the weekend from college.
 
Chuck has always been kind, caring and generous and always encouraged me in life.
 He and Janet fed me, gave me a place to call home and forever grateful to the both of you.
 I feel sad because I was unaware of the battle he had undergone.
 In my heart he will live forever.

Charlie always lived life to the fullest. His sense of humour was one of his many qualities. Charlie's philosophy was that we are born with only so many heartbeats, so we shouldn't waste a single one. As a math teacher at Windermere he was well-liked and well-respected by his students and his colleagues. He will be missed.

My sincerest condolences to Mr. Gobin's family. I want you to know that he truly impacted my life GREATLY: In 1971-1972 I was one of Mr. Gobin's grade 11 math students. As a rebellious teenager I wasn't focused on any subject. Mr. Gobin had me write: 'Neither wise men nor fools can work without tools', 100 times on the chalk board. I never forgot to bring a pencil to his classroom again. Over the years I have thought of him often, as he showed compassion, understanding and he believed in me. This belief was demonstrated by giving up his break time to assist me in learning algebra, which if I had paid attention during normal classroom time I wouldn't have taken up his personal time. He wanted me to have this extra time in private so that I wouldn't be embarrassed amongst my peer group. Because of his tutelage'¦going beyond the call of duty'¦I went from a letter grade D to an A. I thank you Mr. Gobin, very, very much for your act of kindness'¦for caring. I pray that we meet again.

We shared many laughs. I or Charlie were always the first ones in the morning for coffee with the 'boys'. We would always solve the worlds problems prior to 10 am. Charlie often talked about how he has money in an old jacket hidden (he thinks) away from Janet) so he could play the ponies. We shared the most important thing in life given our age was having a good ____everyday. We also enjoyed being with his family at Oroville Washington where one morning I woke early and walked outside only to see a body lying on the beach '¦ Charlie had a good laugh when I told him about it telling me it was just Janet who loved to sleep near the water. He positioned his out door frig. within easy reach of his deck chair '¦ easy to get a brown one. He had a contest with Arcadia as to who could make the hottest pepper sauce, she won. Yes, we will miss our friend.

Dear Gobin Family ' I was a student of Mr. Gobin's at Windermere Secondary. He was a strict teacher, but I sure buckled down and did my work knowing I would have to answer him if I did not! I am sorry for your loss. 'Neither wise men nor fools can work without tools'!! I still remember that!

Dear Janet and family:
 It has been a very long time'¦but we remember the very good times we had with Chuck and Janet in the good old days of the Moonlighters.
 May the memories you have as a family help you through these days of missing Chuck.

 Your bravery and strength saw Charles through his toughest times. He loved you all so very much and wanted only the best for his family.
 There are No Words, that demonstrate the sense of sadness and loss that we all feel.
 Charles was a gentleman through and through and I very much enjoyed our times having BBQ and good conversation. at our home.
 New Years Eves at the club were grand and so much fun, it will never be the same ever again.
