Ah-Ba was one of the kindest, most gentle souls I’ve ever known. A man whose presence instantly put you at ease. He didn’t need grand words or gestures; his warmth came through in the quiet way he showed he cared. Whether it was coming over with groceries, just dropping by to see his grandchildren, or being there to keep you company, his kindness was steady and effortless. He had a way of making even ordinary moments feel comforting, and it’s that gentle sweetness we’ll always remember and miss.

Thank you uncle(Godfather) for all the times you've helped me; from driving me to/from school and dropping Jenny and I off to parties and picking us up.
I'll never forget the time you and aunty drove all the way to Richmond at midnight, to pick up Jenny and I. That fact that you and/or aunty had plastic bags ready for my puking.. was iconic. You were a faster driver, not aggressive, but safe. I hope you can drive fast and furious in your dream car up above. Never stop watching over us, like we'll never stop missing you.

Daddy,
There are still so many things on my bucket list that I wanted to do with you. I wish we had the chance to do them all. Growing up, you were always there—every step of the way. You lost sleep just to make it to our games, practices, or to drive us to school and work. We always looked forward to your days off, because that meant adventures: to the mall, the park, or to Popo and Gong Gong’s house. I’ll never forget how you used your vacation days just to line them up with our cousins plan, so we could all go to PNE together. We made you go on every ride with us—multiple times! From morning until closing, and then we’d end the night with a huge, late-night feast. I wish I could bring those days back.

You were always selfless. You put our needs before yours. You treated my friends like they were your own children. Your kindness left a mark on them—they still talk about it. And your bond with my husband... it’s one of the most beautiful things. You treated him like your own son. The way he talks about you, the way he cared for you, always wanting you involved—it meant the world. I still remember the morning before we got engaged. You met up with us before our trip to Victoria and said, “Have fun, don’t worry about anything—I got it.” I’ve never seen you smile so big.

I’ll never forget our car shopping days, our lunch and dinner dates. But my favorite memories are the days you came over just to watch my firstborn so I could nap or get housework done. She sleeps with your picture and randomly calls out for you throughout the day. The way she remembers you breaks our hearts—she loves you so dearly. It's so pure, so precious. I love you, Daddy. I’ll miss sitting with you late at night, just doing our own thing. I’ll miss you helping me with my flowers and asking, “Do you need help?” I’ll miss you watching the kids while we snuck out for a bite. I’ll miss opening the sun deck door and seeing you doing your word searches.

May you rest in peace now daddy <3 I love u

Dear Uncle Charles,

I can hardly believe you're gone, and my heart feels so heavy with the weight of that truth. You were a constant in my life, someone whose presence always made me feel safe, understood, and loved. Now that you’re no longer here, it’s as if a part of me has disappeared with you. The world feels emptier, quieter, without you in it.

I’ll never forget the way you made me feel like I mattered, the way you listened without judgment, and the way your kindness never seemed to have limits. You had such a gift for making everyone around you feel seen, and I was so lucky to be one of the people you loved.

It breaks my heart knowing I won’t hear your voice again, won’t feel your reassuring presence, won’t share another laugh with you. But I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my life. You will live on in the stories we share, in the lessons you taught me, and in the love you gave so freely to those lucky enough to know you.

With love and profound gratitude, your nephew's Raymond and Simon
