I am Chung Ai's little sister Kim.

Besides my parents, she was my most beloved family member.  When China fell to the Communist regime, my family escaped to Hong Kong.  We then moved to the United States later.  It was not easy to find work.  5th sister continued to support my family financially throughout these difficult periods.  I would not be where I am today without her continual assistance.

May of 2012 I had an opportunity to visit her at the senior home.  We spent a precious few days visiting and chatting together, the memory of which will forever be edged in my mind. My biggest regret when I received the sad news that 5th sister has passed away is that I did not have a chance to say good-bye.

My dearest and respectful 5th sis,
As I heard the sad news of your passing, I was overcome with mixed emotion.

You were senior to me by thirteen months and a day.  Ever since I was young I had always felt that you were superior to me in every way.  You were my life's model all along.

I remember the good old days then we would take along our little sister Kim to go shopping, then movie, before we would head home.  Later on, you left home for boarding school while I commuted.  You chose medicine and I chose chemistry.

When the Communist regime took over China, you left for Canada while I stayed behind.  32 years later in the 1980's when our kids were all grown, we finally re-united in North America.  I am saddened by your sudden passing.

Lastly, I'd like to pen a fitting prose for remembrance of you, my dear 5th sis:

You were a: Noble wife, doting mother, good doctor, dutiful daughter, loving sister, loyal friend.
