Mr. David Shiu Kit Fung

Mr. David Fung was born in 1942 in Baihua Town, Huiyang County, Guangdong Province, with 8 brothers and sisters. David ranked seventh. He moved to Hong Kong in 1962 to make a living. He was compassionate, generous, and helpful. He was filial to his parents and respectful to his brothers and sisters throughout his life. In 1969 he founded Lianfa Ironwork Engineering Co., Ltd. with his good friend, Mr. Yu. In 1972, he met his neighbour, Miss Connie Lam and married in 1974. In 1979, the family immigrated to Vancouver, Canada and united with his wife’s family. In 1980, with his wife and partnership with her brothers, they opened the first Chiu Chow restaurant in Vancouver, Chinatown.

David and Connie have three children - Simon, Rebecca and Ruby. They are a very close knit family. The children all became university graduates and each grew to be successful in both career and family. Each of them are happily married with one son and one daughter. In total, he has 6 grandchildren.

David had worked very hard throughout his life until he retired at the age of 75 to enjoy life with his grandchildren at home. In the spring of 2018, he was admitted to the hospital for a chronic cough and was confirmed to have lung cancer. After various treatments and under attentive care, he recovered and was able to be home again. Near the end of November 2021, his physical condition suddenly deteriorated due to the progression of his cancer.

On December 2nd, David became a Christian. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and got baptized in his home.

On December 22nd at 01:03 a.m., he went to be with the Lord at the age of 79 with his children and grandchildren by his bedside.

馮少杰先生，出生於 1942 年廣東省惠陽縣白花 鎮一個富裕家庭，共有兄弟姐妹 8 人，少杰排行第 7。少杰於 1962 年移居香港謀生。他爲人善良慷 慨，樂於助人，一生孝順父母，重兄弟情。1969 年 與好朋友余森先生合夥創立聯業鐵器工程公司。

1972 年與鄰居林鳳琴小姐結識並於 1974 年共諧 連理。婚後育有一子二女。1979 年舉家移民加拿大

溫哥華定居，與岳父、母兄弟姐妹團聚。1980 年與 妻舅們合夥在華埠開創溫哥華首家潮州菜館。

兒女們均畢業於省立 BC 大學，事業各有成就。 對父母都非常孝順。兒女們相繼成家立室。各育有 一子一女。

馮少杰先生一生勤奮好學，刻苦耐劳。工作至 75 歲退休。在家享弄孫為樂。2018 年春天因久咳入 醫院檢查後證實為肺癌並留院進行各項治療，期間 妻兒們悉心照料陪伴，病情好轉後回家休養。至 2021 年 11 月底身體不適，繼而進食困難。

感謝天父，馮少杰先生於 2021 年 12 月 2 日接受 耶穌基督為他個人的救主，並施行洗禮，成爲一位 基督徒。

於 12 月 22 日凌晨 1:03 分安息主懷。享年 79 歲，所有兒孫均服侍在側。
