Poem for our Dad: The Final Journey
Life brings us heavy and dark storms to navigate; many difficult and exhausting roads to travel, but now the road is smooth; the sky is bright, sunny, warm, and clear.
Sleep well at last, beneath the quiet stars, and the bright moonlight, and beyond the earthly struggles and the scars of life. Now we wish you only light upon your face, and wrap you in a warm, and forgiving grace.
Now the wind is behind your back, and we pray for the sun to shine brightly ahead to guide your journey towards the light. The road was long, but now the end is sweet, a place where rest and perfect silence comes to meet.
We hold the good and everlasting memories that you have left within our hearts, and as you leave the final stage of life, and say your final goodbyes, the lights have dimmed; the curtains have closed, and we wish you eternal comfort, peace, and harmony.
Rest in Peace Dad
