Dean passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from a heart attack. Dean was born and raised in Burnaby, and remained in the area throughout his adult life. He grew up walking the wooded trails of north Burnaby, skiing local hills, swimming at CG Brown pool, and mastering a manual 5-speed transmission while living on Capitol Hill.
Dean held interests in Architecture, History and Music. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved the water and was an accomplished swimmer and scuba diver. To contribute to his community, Dean volunteered countless hours over the years at the Italian Cultural Centre, Free Geek Vancouver, and Vancouver Jazz Festival.
Dean will always be remembered for his unshakable love, loyalty, perseverance, and gentleness. He is survived, and greatly missed, by his mother Mary, brother Roger, and sister-in-law Ciara as well as many cousins around the lower mainland/southern BC and Ontario.
A celebration of life will be held at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the BC Schizophrenia Society.
