

Delfin Tee Jao (nickname William), age 92, of Vancouver, Canada passed away peacefully in the Philippines on March 26, 2023.
Born in Legaspi City, Philippines on September 2, 1930 to Lao Tin Lai and Tee Sioc Pat, Delfin was the eldest of the 8 children. He was lovingly survived by 5 siblings; Merla, Wellington, Erlinda, Cynthia and Anne. He was a successful businessman and owned several auto supply and hardware stores. He modelled hardworking ethics, an entrepreneurial spirit, loyalty, and dedication.
In 1953, he married Severina Velez who he met in high school. Together they had 6 children; Ellen, Eddy, Heddy, Betty, Hessen, Jane. Additionally, they had 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and one more on the way. Severina predeceased him in 2013.
Delfin was the pillar of the Jao clan whether as a brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather or great grandfather. He instilled in them the importance of family unity, helping each other and to be compassionate, kind, and giving. We will forever be thankful and grateful for his generosity and sacrifices. He will also be remembered for his boundless energy, joy of travelling, laughing, eating, playing Freecell or Mahjong, his quick wit, and love of telling jokes.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, April 28, 2023 - Ocean View Funeral Chapel 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby
"Celebration of Life" reception to follow at approximately 1:00 pm - Gingeri Chinese Cuisine at 5300 No. 3 Road, Richmond
