Uncle Don was one of the most generous and caring men that was somewhat of an influence in my life. 

Some of my favourite childhood memories was getting to spend my summers as a kid with all my older cousins - except for Lester - Gemma, Clara, Marian, Raymond, Lillian, Linda and Vivian at their “mansion on the hill” in Cache Creek. He also had his highly successful restaurant “The Wander Inn” - where some familial relations such as his wife (Yee Yee Mah’s/#2 Aunts)  cousin Joseph Pang, was employed by him. 

Uncle Don was also a very generous man, paying all us kids for the smallest of tasks -  like mowing the lawn and cleaning out the chicken coop - so we would have pocket money to go down the hill into town to blow it all at the local Dairy Queen and video arcade. I also remember learning how to ride a 10-speed bicycle while there during one of the summers. 

He was also a very forgiving man, especially when I fell trying to climb their brick fireplace in the living room, then falling and breaking a lamp which Lillian ended up piecing back together for me as I was making a mess of the attempted repair - something Marian reminded me of. Uncle Don didn’t get angry as I’d feared, instead, he just said that the lamp was “just a thing of no lasting value.” 

He was also my boss when he and my dad partnered up for Don’s Galactic Gardens and Don’s Bistro, where he employed cousin Raymond and his daughter Lillian during Expo 86. 

I never did get to see him all that much after that except occasionally when I went to visit with Lester when they lived at their condo on Kingsway, then their townhouse on Frontenac, then not at all after that. 

You’ll be missed by a lot of us Uncle Don. I’m glad you’re no longer in pain and I guess we’ll see you when we all join you on the other side of the veil.

Our deepest condolences to the Wong’s family.  Mr Wong was a professional realtor with kind heart.  He helped our family (and many families from Hong Kong) to settle into our life in Canada 35 years ago.  He was so kind and supportive, helping our family (school enrollment, buying cars, getting SIN/medicial cards etc) unconditionally way beyond a realtor would usually do.  He loved his job and was always happy to help newcomers.  He became my family’s good friend.  My Dad cherished his 35 years of friendship with Mr Wong.  May God bless and guide Mrs Wong and the Wong’s Family in this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to the family. I will never forget all the great memories as a big family at Don's bistro and galactic galaxy. Although I was just a small kid, I remember the karaoke machine and the big family gatherings there with everyone. Thank you for those memories that i will continue to cherish. God bless the family during this time.
