Born in Cranbrook, BC, into one of the city’s pioneering families, Donalda moved to Victoria in 1950 where she obtained her R.N. at St. Joseph’s Hospital. While in Victoria, she also met her eventual husband, Ron. Married in 1954, they moved to Vancouver two years later, then to Burnaby where they made their home for 54 years. While pursuing her varied nursing career, she worked at VGH, at the VPD as Police Nurse #172 and then at SFU Health Services and Hastings Race Park. Predeceased by son, Ronnie, she is survived by loving husband Ron, son Bob (Charles), daughter Marilyn (Randy) and by the grandchildren she so adored – Meaghan, Campbell and Melissa. An avid reader and history buff, she loved to travel the world and donate time in the community. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to A Loving Spoonful, Covenant House or Union Gospel Mission. She will be forever loved and remembered. Memorial Service will take place in The Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home (3789 Royal Oak Ave. Burnaby) on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 2:00pm.
