I was 9 years old and my brother Bruce was 7 years old when we met Doug, the coach of the North Burnaby Eagles. He was my coach until I entered UBC. He was a calm, friendly and funny man who never had a discouraging word to his team members. Under his guidance, he helped us win 3 provincial cups in B. C.
My love for soccer was due to Doug's influence and it allowed me to play competitive soccer for 40 years. Soccer was an important part of my life!
My sincere condolences to the family.
