Beloved wife of the late Eric Sample.

Loving Great Grandma of Imogen Thomson, Ava and Keegan Brennen and Rhett Leonard.

Eleanor enjoyed countless long walks with her dog Dominic for many years, walking along the ocean in Sechelt and for many years after Dominic passed. She was a quiet soul but very friendly and loved her family dearly. She had a generous spirit, was very giving and always quick with a witty joke.

Eleanor loved to read, do word puzzles and watch her favourite movie musicals. She loved to sing and in fact won a competition with her sister Bernice when they were young.

Eleanor was one of twelve children of Lillian and Edward Hood. She was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba. She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Rintoul and Dorothy Lang and one brother Robert plus numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Eleanor Jeanette Sample, age 93, of Richmond, British Columbia passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024.

A committal service for Eleanor will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G 3M1.
