Elpidio was born on May 27, 1943, in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to Pedro and Benigna. He was the third of four children. He attended Centro Escolar University, where he studied Medical Technology. He later immigrated to Montreal, where he met his wife, Sylvia. They started their life together and were blessed with two sons, Glenn and Cliff. The family eventually settled in Vancouver, where he spent the majority of his career working at Richmond General Hospital.
After retirement, he spent more time with his family, which remained most important to him. He especially treasured his time with his grandchildren and embraced being a grandfather with love and patience.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Elpidio will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and the care he showed to those around him.
Elpidio leaves behind his beloved wife, Sylvia; his sons, Glenn (Jehan) and Cliff (Nahal); his brother, Herminio; his sisters, Conchita and Nancy; and his cherished grandchildren, Jaden, Madden, Shyon, and Jhiyon; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Canada, the Philippines, and abroad.
He was predeceased by his father and mother.
The Castillo family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation all those who offered their love, kindness, support, and prayers during this time.
