Our family has received inquiries regarding donations and flowers on behalf of Elsie Carss. We have discussed the approach and decided it would be best to donate towards a meaningful cause that mattered to Elsie and would impact our family for generations to come. Prior to her passing, my son, Trevor, approached his grandmother with a mission to give back to visual research. After having a dialogue with Dr. David Maberley, the leading professor of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at UBC, he started a non-profit charity called Sightly.org as inspiration for Elsie's work with the blind. Your proceeds will be provided to scientists working on a cure for blindness in the fields of stem cell research, gene therapy, and retinal disease.
