It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Rose Krikau on June 19, 2026, at the age of 93. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on September 19, 1932, Elsie lived a life defined by love, devotion, and a deep appreciation for the people around her.
Elsie was predeceased by her lifetime best friend and beloved husband, Herb, with whom she was happily married for 70 years.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and family. Elsie is lovingly survived by her daughters, Pat Perry (Lorne) and Darlene; her grandchildren, Darcy (Amy) and Lindsay; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Mya and Cole. She will also be fondly remembered and missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Above all else, family and friends were the cornerstone of Elsie's life. She found her greatest joy in the quiet moments spent with those she loved, particularly during cherished times at Green Lake alongside her husband, Herb. Her warmth, presence, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Willingdon Care Centre for their exceptional care and compassion during Elsie's time there.
A funeral service to honor Elsie's life will be held on July 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for a reception to celebrate her memory at the Slovenian Hall, 5762 Sprott Street in Burnaby.
