Emma Bevilacqua

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and aunt, Emma Bevilacqua. Emma passed away on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026 at the age of 90 with her family by her side. Emma is predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Giovanni, who passed away in 2021; sisters Angelina and Elvira; and brother Giuseppe. She is survived by her children, Fortunata (Mike), Pino (Samantha); her grandchildren, Carissa, Gino (Fatima), and Bianca, whom she adored; brother Genaro (Maria); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Emma was born on January 6th, 1936 in Atilia Cosenza, Italy to parents Pasquale and Antonietta Floro. She was known for her infectious smile and always putting others before herself. Her kindness, compassion, and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her passions included cooking, knitting, hosting family gatherings, and spending time in the garden with her husband.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kopernik Lodge for their kindness and support over the last 9 years. They would also like to extend their sincerest thanks to the staff at Vancouver General Hospital.

Visitation will be held at Bell and Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC on Monday, June 15th, 2026 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 555 Slocan Street Vancouver, BC. Entombment to follow at the Abbey Mausoleum - Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street Burnaby, BC.
