Eric Kitson

It is with great sadness to announce the death of Eric Kitson. He passed peacefully June 28, 2026 with his wife of 73 years, Maureen at his side.

He was born June 12, 1930 in Belfast, Northern Ireland where spent his early years. After finishing school, he received an apprenticeship in Harland & Wolfe, the company that built the Titanic. One of his work mates introduced him to his sister, Maureen Bell. They got married on her birthday and almost immediately left for Owen Sound, Ontario. Eventually they ended up Burnaby, B.C. where Eric started up his own electrical contracting business. He worked right up to 75 years old when he decided to hang up the multimeter and start a second career, retirement.

He kept himself busy participating in activities at the senior’s center and golf. He often said he was busier in retirement than when he worked.

They had three children, Brian (Sue), Colin (Kathy) and Glen.

They were blessed with four grandchildren, Tara, Danielle, Lee and Christopher and four great grandchildren Dylan, Thea, Cristian and Andres.
