It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Federico (Fred) Castro Ibanez, who passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at the age of 84.
Fred was born on September 4, 1941, and lived a life devoted to his family, friendships, and the people he loved. He shared nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Pacita Rausa Ibanez, whom he married on September 24, 1966. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Pacita; his daughter, Ira, her husband John, and their sons Ethan and Joshua; and his son, Derek, his wife Desiree, and their daughter Kadence.
He was predeceased by his cherished son, Federico (Rick) Jose Ibanez, whose memory remained forever close to his heart.
Those who knew Fred will remember his warm spirit, his love of bringing people together, and the joy he found in spending time with family and friends. His kindness, strength, and generous heart touched many lives, and his memory will continue to live on through all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
The family invites relatives and friends to join them in celebrating Fred’s life.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff who provided Fred with compassionate care during his final days, and to all who have offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to our dear friends of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) at Canadian Martyrs Parish for their kindness, prayers, compassion, and unwavering support. Your love and generosity have been a great source of comfort to our family, and we are deeply grateful.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.
