It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Felicia Perrotta. Our loving mother, wife, nonna, sister, aunt, and friend. Felicia peacefully passed away on January 10, 2021 with her family at her side. She has left us to find a better place where all her suffering will have ended. She was predeceased by her husband Mario, mother Antonietta, father Angelo, sisters Elena, Rosaria, Gaudenza, Settimia and Ottolina. She is survived by her son Costantino (Angela), daughter Anna Maria (Walter), grandchildren Adam, Matthew, Alexander and Andrea, great grandchildren Milana and Weston, sister-in-law Gaudenza, brother-in-law, Fidenzio, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Felicia was born on March 5, 1926 in Celano, L’Aquila, Italy. In December 1952 she married her long-time love Mario and In February of 1954, Felicia travelled across the Atlantic, first by ship and then by train, with her husband and her four-month-old baby, Costantino, to start a new life in Vancouver, B.C. When Anna Maria was born, in 1959, her family was complete. Felicia loved to spend time with her sisters. their families and with the many friends from their hometown in Italy, who like herself, had made a new life in a foreign country. Many summer days were spent picnicking at the many local beaches and parks and winter nights playing cards and bingo. Felicia was overjoyed when her many nieces and nephews would stop by her house for a coffee and spend time “catching up” with her. However, her ultimate joy was when her grandchildren were born. When she looked after them it gave her the time to imprint her love on them and for her grandchildren to forever know her own unique love. Later in her life she was also given the gift to love with two beautiful great grandchildren. Felicia loved all of her grandchildren and it is lovingly characterized by her granddaughter:

nonna, we will never be lonely, for you are the stars that light up our sky; the flowers that colour our gardens; and the warmth within our hearts. the glue for our family, unseen but always held tightly together. the bonds with your sisters always remained strong, now you are with them again, gathered in happiness and love. finally joined again with nonno, you all are able to walk the gardens of heaven all in one, as you are now at peace with those you have missed. your golden heart will never fade we will be ok because the glue remains the same.

We would like to thank our family and our many friends for all the support, thoughts, and prayers, you have given us, during this very difficult time. We would also like to give our heartfelt thank you to the care givers, nurses, and staff at Villa Carital for the excellent care they provided to our mother over the many years she was in residence. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Villa Carital Foundation. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral mass will be held privately.
