Filomena Franco

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Filomena Franco, born March 27, 1927, in Castelgrande, Italy. She passed away peacefully on August 9, 2023, in Vancouver, British Columbia at the age of 96 years. Filomena was predeceased by her loving husband, Angelo, in 2017. She is survived by her loving children, Danny (Diana), Mary (Joe), Vivian (Sal), and Lawrence (Ann), her grandchildren Derek (Elena), Joseph (Lisa), Danielle (Tom), Deanna (Stephen), Michelle (Marco), Davis (Paulina), Lindsay (Steve), Christopher (Aleksandra), and Leah (Luca), her eighteen great-grandchildren, and many extended family and friends here and in Italy. Filomena exuded a passionate love for her family, an enthusiasm for her vast network of friends, and an energetic joy from her daily walks. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly her pride and joy and cooking for her family brought her the most happiness. She was a devoted daily attendee at her early morning Church services. She will truly be missed by all her family and friends as they remember her sweet and generous disposition. We would like to thank the staff at Villa Carital for their care and compassion. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 555 Slocan Street, Vancouver, BC. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Filomena’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC.
