Fung Cho (Rose) Jung

16 November, 1944 – 5 December, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park

Fung Cho (Rose) Jung, age 81, of Vancouver, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Rose departs this world to be joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Yit Bo Jung, and her daughter, Julie Chong. Rose is survived by her children Mary Orr, Gary Jung, Judy Kwok, Lynda Wissmann, Steven Jung, 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The youngest of eight siblings, Rose was born on November 16, 1944, in Taishan, Guangdong, China, to Choi Chee Cheung and York Sau Lee (Cheung). At the age of 16, she left Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada not knowing how to speak English and faced every challenge with courage, determination, and resilience.

A devoted mother and homemaker, Rose dedicated her life to raising her family and providing stability, care and opportunity for her six children. Her dedication to their upbringing and education was the guiding force of Rose’s life and her legacy lives on through the values she instilled in them. Rose worked tirelessly and was also a businesswoman. Alongside her husband, she ran several Vancouver Island businesses, including the family-owned grocery store.

She enjoyed travelling and had a deep appreciation of Canada’s natural beauty, finding tranquility in its landscapes. She took great pride in cultivating her vegetable garden and cooking delicious authentic Chinese meals for her family, reflections of her nurturing spirit.

Rose will be remembered as a feisty woman whose bold presence and unwavering spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and care team at Madison Care Centre for their care and compassion.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Rose’s life. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Burnaby.
