A classmate that everyone liked, I hear nothing but kind things about Fung, always helpful, always smiling, thoughtful...

For years I didn't know that Fung lived a block away from me.  He unexpectedly came by my house late summer 2009 and we reconnected. Fung did not drive, so whenever I ran into him at the neighborhood Safeway, I would always offer him a ride home and we would chit chat. He had a green thumb and grew his own vegetables. I had him over for dinner a few times and he introduced me to his home grown Swiss Chard.

It was with deep sadness that our family learned of Fung’s passing, our heartfelt condolences to his family.
Fung will always be remembered as a gentle and thoughtful person, I had the privilege of working with him for a few years at the Cask and Anchor Seafood restaurant in the late 70’s.
Afterwards, I socialized with him through a friend of ours, Dave.
There are no words to describe the passing of someone who has left us so soon- I am sure that Fung is in a much better and peaceful place.

I was so sorry to hear of Fung’s passing. I knew Fung in elementary school -Grandview - as well as our time at Britannia. I remember having several classes with him. It’s been a very long time but I still remember how smart he was! Others have said he was funny. I remember that as well.  And he was very friendly and you would rarely see him without a smile on his face. I am so sorry for your loss.

Had some great memories of Fung since knowing him from high school.  He will always be remembered for his good nature and kindness.

 I would like to express my deepest condolences for your loss.  I knew Fung in high school (Britannia Secondary) and I remember he was a very good student....smarter than me !   He was good friends with Tim Tam, and once in a while, different groups of friends got together, including me and my friends, to hang out for pizza, go boating at Harrison Lake etc.  
I have some vivid memories that during high school Fung worked part time as a cook at a friend's restaurant, (Nancy Jang, and her brother, Howard Jang's family restaurant) the Cask n Anchor near Davie & Granville.  I recall I visiting the restaurant one day ..it was on the weekend (probably to work on a school project)  and Fung was there.  I was getting a bit hungry, he made a seafood omelette and it was best seafood omelette I have ever had...to this day !! ....I can still taste it.   I was very impressed by his cooking skills. He could have been a chef!!  
 I did see him at one of our grad reunions (in 2011).   I am proud to have known him and saddened by the news of his passing.  After graduation, it's harder to keep in touch and then we all lose touch due to our busy lives.   You have a wonderful son,   I wish I got to know him better.  I am so sorry for your loss,  he will be missed but not forgotten.     Attached is a photo of Fung and I at our high school graduation in 1981. 

We first knew Fung as a member of a bunch of hard working young employees.  Over the years, he became a good friend as well.
