Giampietro Franzon

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Giampietro Franzon on March 9, 2022 in Thiene Vicenza, Italy at the age of 79. He was born in Zane, Vicenza Italy on August 21, 1942 and was a loving Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend. Giampietro is predeceased by his Parents Antonio and Caterina, Brothers Enrico, Adriano and Bruno, Nephews David and Robert.

He is survived by his loving Brother Giuseppe (Eliana), Sister-in Laws Diane and Rosa, Nieces Sonya (Giovanni), Claudia (Luis), Nephews Stephane (Marianne), Nicolas (Nannie), Great-Nieces Selena, Alissia, Eva, Isabelle and Nadia, Great Nephews Antonio, Anthony and Adriano.

His passion for travel took him to visit many countries Australia, New Zealand Puerto Rico and Italy. In June 2019 he went back to Italy with expectations to return by December 2019. As COVID became active in Italy at the end of 2019 he was unable to come back. Unfortunately, he was then diagnosed with lung cancer and due to his frail health was unable to return to Canada but did express his wish to come back and be united with his family. He will live on in everyone’s hearts forever and will be truly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial is to be held on Wednesday June 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Helen’s Parish located at 3871 Pandora Street, Burnaby. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Grand Mausoleum, 4000 Imperial Avenue, Burnaby.
