It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Giuseppe (Joe) Rinaldis, 89, on September 7, 2026. Born in Mammola, Reggio Calabria, Italy, he was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Immacolata, of 64 years. He leaves behind a legacy of love that extends to his children, Nancy and Maria (Peter) and to his grandchildren, Cody (Danielle), Zachary, and Cameron. Predeceased by his father, Salvatore, his mother, Giuseppa, his sister, Carmela and his son, Salvatore.
He is also survived by his brother Nicodemo, and sister, Rosa (Enzo) and by a large extended family and many friends who will miss him greatly. Joe's calm presence, wisdom and quiet humour were a source of comfort for all who knew him.
Joe spent his career as a pipelayer and retired over 30 years ago, and he was able to devote his time to what he loved most: his wife, his family, his garden and making wine.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 7:00 pm at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. BC.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at our Lady of Sorrows, 555 Slocan Drive, Vancouver BC. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby BC. There will be a brief visitation before Mass beginning at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be greatly appreciated and can be made to the ALS Society of BC at alsbc.ca
Flower arrangements are to be sent to Ocean View Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 16.
