MACKIE, Helen Hazel (nee SABIN): passed away peacefully in New Westminster, BC on June 15, 2022 at the age of 94. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her nephew Wally, nieces Debbie (Charlie), Linda (Jerry); great-niece Nicole; sister Elaine; many extended family and friends. Aunt Helen was predeceased by her husband Ken; and nearly all of her siblings including her brother Archie who passed away just recently as well. Helen loved Burnaby and was active in the community as a hospice volunteer, among many others. Helen loved traveling with Ken. She also loved sports, and was an active ball player in her younger years, and a lawn bowler in more recent years. A public visitation will be held from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Tuesday June 21, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home (3789 Royal Oak Ave. Burnaby BC). Later on, a Service of Remembrance will occur at 1:00 pm on Thursday June 30, 2022 followed directly by a short urn placement ceremony on the same property at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
