Hermann was a quiet man and I find that a bit odd. For someone that has seen many drastic changes in the word, socially and technologically and had lived some of these adventures himself he certainly had every right to brag a little. At a young age leaving their only known home he and his young wife Hilde, hopped a merchant vessel from Germany, landing in Winnipeg Canada the first stop in the new world. He started his career in Germany working with telegraph equipment and manual phone patching equipment and until the end of his life continued to take delight in technological advances as they came on the market. He loved to tinker and do his own plumbing and electrical repairs, always doing a professional job. He mastered several trades and as many jobs over a lifetime. He leaves behind his lovely wife Hilde, three wonderful and productive children, Peter, Angela and Christie, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. I always enjoyed hearing his stories of life in Germany and his various careers. Anyone that got to know Herman would certainly love and appreciate him for who he was and the journeys and experiences he would share. Hermann leaves this grand adventure with a great distance travelled, many experiences, his greatest legacy being his family and friends who will continue to love and remember him.
We miss you Hermann
