Mr. Lee worked in the produce industry for four years, and in the retail and food industry for forty-one years. He started his own grocery store with two partners in 1956. In 1959, he took a two year sabbatical to travel and explore the Pacific Rim. After returning from his trip, he opened another grocery store in Vancouver with another partner in 1961. In 1965, he married his wife, Han Sau Lee, and ran a number of businesses with her before retiring in 2003.
Hoy Chun was an incredible, devoted husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and relative. He sponsored many of his relatives from China, as well as his wife’s family. We were truly blessed by his love and commitment to his immediate and extended family.
Mr. Lee lived a long, healthy, full life; and passed away on May 14, 2019 at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for all the support, comfort, and sympathies you have extended to them during this time of loss.
