With heartfelt love and gratitude, we announce the peaceful passing of Thomas Chan (陳壽泉弟兄) on July 25, 2025, at the age of 95. He was surrounded by his beloved wife, two daughters, and compassionate caregivers as he entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior.
Born in Singapore on August 15, 1930, Thomas was the eldest of four children. His ancestral roots were in Panyu, Guangdong, China. Though he enjoyed a comfortable early childhood and early adolescence, his family was later divided during the turmoil of World War II. As a teenager, he fled to Hong Kong with his mother and sister, while his father returned to China with his two younger brothers.
Thomas began working early to support his family, first as a minibus driver, then as a garage apprentice, while pursuing evening studies in accounting. His determination, diligence, and resilience eventually led him to a successful 30-year career as a professional accountant.
On December 25, 1971, he married Selina Leung, and together they raised two beloved daughters. In July 1993, the family immigrated to Vancouver, Canada, seeking a peaceful and stable future.
A life-changing moment came on Father’s Day, June 20, 2010, when Thomas attended a gospel meeting and, by the grace of God, accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was baptized later that year on October 10 (Thanksgiving Day), and remained active in his faith through Bible studies, church fellowship, and service.
Even in his final years, facing health challenges—including strokes and surgery—Thomas continued to show quiet strength and grace. He moved into long-term care in 2023, where he was lovingly cared for until his passing.
Thomas will be remembered for his gentle spirit, hard work, quiet humor, and deep devotion to his family and faith. He built a life of integrity from humble beginnings and remained a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather throughout his days.
He is survived by his beloved wife Selina Leung, two daughters, and one grandson.
We thank God for the life of Thomas Chan.
