Irene Margaret Cotton

Irene was born in Field, BC and passed away surrounded by family at Royal Columbian Hospital. Predeceased by her parents Salvatore and Flora Port and brother Andy. She leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years Richard; brother Robert (Elizabeth); sister in law Antoinetta; nieces and nephews, David (Maureen), John (Darcy), Teresa (Jimbo), Sam and Raymond. She will be missed by many other family and friends from throughout her life due to her generous and caring nature. Irene worked as a Medical and Dental Receptionist for 40 years for Dr. Donald Webb, Dr. Robert Port and Norburn Medical Clinic. She was involved in many facets of her Christian faith as a teacher and Coordinator for Childrens Religious education, Legion of Mary (almost 50 years), Missions, Statue Visitation, CWL, Visitation of the sick, Eucharistic Minister, Lecturer and Member of Newman Alumnui Association. Irene had a great talent for card playing, was a great cook and baker due to her Italian heritage and enjoyed sharing these talents with fantastic dinner parties. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 ' 4:30 at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby on Thursday, February 27, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 3860 Triumph St., Burnaby.
