Irma was at all the family events, here she is in the center of all the fun at Ron and Mary's wedding. She got the most out of life everywhere she went! :)

Another picture of our visit to Ramona in Victoria. Irma was always game for an outing ... life was one great big adventure and was very supportive of all her family.

In July 2008, Irma, Mary, Claire, Elsie and I loaded ourselves up in Irma's very spacious yellow car (early 1980s boat) and off we went for a day trip to see Ramona in Victoria. It was spur of the moment and one of our many fun and fond moments with a carload of De Rooses. I was the driver for this trip but there were other times when Irma or Claire did the driving, well into their 80s!

This picture is from the last big family gathering we had. Of course at Irma's house. Many people were there that I as an in-law had never met before and I value that meeting as a great place to get to know everybody. The sun was bright, we had a tent in the backyard for people to sit under, and the food just kept on coming. Lots of laughs, and lots of great family pictures including this one of Irma with her three sisters. Sadly, sometime after this picture, auntie Gaby and then auntie Clair left us and now auntie Irma too.

Shocking sadness greeted us with this news, a truly lovely woman has moved on. She had time for everyone, always had something nice to say, and was the hostess of many family gatherings and events. Her home was always open. Irma was kind and loving to all her family, especially her nieces and nephews. In many ways she was up for anything and visited various other family homes and in-laws with enthusiasm. Always a smile on her face, always laughter in her voice and always good food in her kitchen. Auntie Irma leaves behind a wonderful family and a world that is better for her having been in it.
