Born in Kosa, Perusic, Croatia to Martin and Luja Rukavina. Predeceased by his wife Ana and his sister Ane Stimac. Leaves behind dear friend and long time companion Ana Kustreba, sister Jelena (Ivan) Hecimovic, nieces and nephews Kata (Ante), Ivan (Vjera), Ive, Ankica (Joso), Kate (Devin), Maria and extended family in Canada and Croatia. Nas jedini UJAK as he was known by one and all, was a beacon to everyone in the Croatian community. His endless dedication & support for the people and his homeland never ceased. The emptiness that his passing leaves behind can never be filled, Hrvatski te narod ljubi. Prayers will be offered at 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 15th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3105 E 1st Avenue, Vancouver, BC where Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00am on Thursday, February 16th. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to Burnaby Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
