Mrs. Jacqollyne Lea

Beloved wife and mother

Jacqollyne passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 just after her 81st birthday celebration with her husband, family and friends at St. John’s Hospice at UBC. Since her birth in Singapore on January 17, 1939 and her youth in Kuching, Malaysia, she had an adventurous spirit which brought her to travel the USA in her 20s and eventually brought her to meet her love, Ross, in Vancouver, BC. They were married on April 12, 1969 and raised two children, Kasandra and Russil. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother who embodied unconditional love and generosity. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter inspired all those around her. She was also an energetic, efficient and diplomatic team member as she led the conveyance team at Lim & Company, Oakridge lawyers. However, her second life began at retirement when she and Ross traveled the world including Scandinavia, Europe, Russia, China, SE Asia, Australia, the Mediterranean, Alaska, Mexico, Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Caribbean and South America. The last 6 years, Jacqollyne valiantly battled a cancer called Multiple Myeloma. She is proof of the power of love and human spirit, as she had survived longer than any of the doctors or the chemotherapy treatment experts had ever thought possible. Her Baha’i faith prohibits believers from giving up their lives and she will be remembered as a brave and courageous fighter.

Left to honour her love and memory are her family: Ross (husband), Kasandra (daughter), Doug, Jassmone & Konnor Buchanan and Russil (son), Eleanor & Emmaly Lea, and the extended Lea and Soh families with dozens of loving nieces and nephews.
