James (Jim) Somerville Anderson

Jim is survived by his loving wife Linda, sister-in-law Pam (Glen), brother-in-law Steve (Brenda), longtime friend Sue, and, not to be forgotten, their predeceased dogs Max and Samie.

Jim was an avid skier in his younger days, and was president of the Pacific Ski Club, and spent many weekends up at Silver Star Mountain.

Jim worked for the City of Vancouver for 40+ years, starting in the Treasury Department, where he met his wife, Linda. They worked side by side as cashiers before moving on to the Properties Division where he retired from in 2008. Jim was heavily involved in the Vancouver Municipal Regional Employees Union, CUPE 15, and many Civic Elections.

Linda and Jim spent many years panning for gold and were fortunate enough to find enough gold for their unique nugget wedding bands.

Jim started building "The House" 34 years ago, but in reality, he was just maintaining a very long-term relationship with a construction site.

A private family Graveside will be held on Thursday, October 1st, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Ocean View Burial Park 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC.
