It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Tateyama on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024. He was a devoted husband of 53 years to Jean, a loving dad to Curtis (Sue) and Debbie (Will) and a proud grandpa to Kaitlynn, Cameron, Tyson and Lauren. He is survived by his brother Lenny (Shelley), many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Kazue and Shinpachi and brother Roy. Jim was born on July 29th, 1942 in Greenwood, B.C. He worked for 39 years at Trans-Pacific Trading. He loved talking about lumber and traveled to Japan numerous times. In his earlier years, he loved to golf and curl; and he enjoyed his daily visits to the casino with Jean. He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends who were so important to him and made his life full.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 1:00 in the afternoon at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers and koden, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice if you wish.
