Leaving school early she worked various jobs before having her three children.
In 1978, she joined Alcoholics Anonymous and became a devoted and active member of that organization. She took great pleasure in her sponsorship duties and volunteered for many functions and activities. She was quite inspirational to those who she shared her personal story with conferences both local and abroad.
In 1988 she returned to school to acquire her grade 12 certificate, and continued her education at King Edward College pursuing her goal of becoming a Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor.
Maureen enjoyed and appreciated the simple things in life. Walking through the park, collecting wild flowers and making hand made gifts for loved ones.
If anyone ever cared, really cared for someone else it would have to be Mrs. JANICE MAUREEN BOND. She was a warm hearted and well liked individual, and these wonderful traits came easily to her because she was such a sociable and amiable person, someone who was always making certain that those around her had whatever they needed. Maureen was a talkative person who was tactful at all times but typically said what she meant.
Maureen was a fantastic conversationalist who could engage just about anyone in a discussion. And whenever she said something, she meant it. Maureen was a down to earth person, outgoing and gregarious. She was without question the type of person who enjoyed experiencing things first hand. She was practical and sensible, but what friends and family will remember her for most is the fact that she was so understanding and kind. Everyone whose life she touched will miss Mrs. JANICE MAUREEN BOND.
